problem description from #1099 --betabug, Wed, 21 Feb 2007 12:30:37 +0000 reply

#1099 duplicated this entry, but gives a more detailed problem description:

"Create HTML wiki page. Add any comment to it. Click edit and save. Comment will be broken and shows incorrectly."

Actually all it needs is a div or p around the comment and the "comments start here" part.

patch is in darcs, yet open questions --betabug, Thu, 22 Feb 2007 14:06:30 +0000 reply

A fix for should be in the darcs repository by now. It formats the comment header to give the same html output as (e.g.) rst pages do. This will not fix existing comments.

Open question: While looking into it, of course I noticed that the formatting of the comment contents might be surprising: It expects the comments to be HTML, e.g. whitespace is not preserved, you can't enter two newlines and expect paragraphs. It should be possible to change that... but what formatting rules would be expected on an HTML page?

Leaving it open for the moment, maybe we can discuss this.

good, but.. --simon, Thu, 22 Feb 2007 20:25:42 +0000 reply

This looks good, but there is also #674 - they get screwed up again when you edit with Epoz. (I think the HTML page type and use of Epoz always go together these days.)

bah! all formatting is lost after edit - even without epoz --betabug, Fri, 23 Feb 2007 11:33:49 +0000 reply

apparently the formatting is only in the "prerendered" page, once the page is rendered again, the formatting is lost... more fixing needed!

New patch is in darcs, fixing this --betabug, Fri, 18 May 2007 00:03:59 -0700 reply
