I have Zwiki 0.14 installed. I have error appeared probably during upgrade(s) that the old address book entry on our exchange server failed to add entries on the wiki. I think the logic for find page names in the To: header conflicts with the way outlook crafts headers for exchange addressbook entries. The header would look like this:

To: xwiki <xwiki@ohionet.cle.lionbioscience.com>

This would cause mailin to fail. with the trace attached below. I worked around it by putting punctuation in the description of the addressbook entry the following was okay:

To: xwiki@ohionet.cle.lionbioscience.com <xwiki@ohionet.cle.lionbioscience.com>

Here is the error trace:

PieterB, 2003/01/26 20:21 GMT (via web):
Quick look. I think the key is in the "Unauthorized: You are not authorized to\nadd\n ZWiki Pages here." Are you sure the anonymous user is allowed to add information to pages? The WikiMail-page should have some info on that.

2003/01/28 22:54 GMT (via web):
Everything works okay if I send with a difference mail client. The anonymous user can append to pages okay. The problems seems to be mailin is finding a different page name in the subject and trying to create a new page instead of appending. The errors are misleading as I can't tell what the new page it is trying to create - but I was able to repeat by sending raw smtp messages into curl and just by adjusting the To: header I could cause this problem.

2003/01/28 22:56 GMT (via web):
Also note that I ran into what appears to be the same error when I tried to mail in this bug report via outlook. I had to resubmit it via the web.

Simon Michael, 2003/01/29 21:56 GMT (via mail):
I think outlook messes with the real name portion of To, so it's probably posting to a different page than you'd expect.

Check the zope event log for more information about the runtime error that's causing zwiki to die. One possible scenario is that it's hitting the regexp max recursion issue, because whatever page outlook is directing the message to has grown large.

You can also set the checkrecipient flag to 0 in mailin.py or in your curl command line, to make mailin ignore the recipient real name.

We don't look at the real name for delivery any more, I assume this no longer breaks.
