Mozilla now supports editing of textareas with a modified/embedded version of its html editor.

Please see the demo at: http://www.mozilla.org/editor/midasdemo/

IE has also something like that.

I think the wikis should sooner or later should be compatible with such tools. And such tools should be able to edit textareas in a standardized wiki syntax.

Zwiki should begin to cooperate with Mozilla people to generate a standardized way for doing so.

Any comments?

WYSIWYG for both IE/Mozilla --PieterB, 2003/02/28 09:25 GMT
Basic functionality also works on IE, which is kind of cool.

Unfortuately it looks kinda buggy right now.

[[#446 Mozilla Midas Integration (Editing textarea using html editor)] Mozilla Midas Integration (Editing textarea using html editor)] and [[#447 Mozilla Midas Integration (Editing textarea using html editor)] Mozilla Midas Integration (Editing textarea using html editor)] were accidental duplicates.
So now closing [[#447 Mozilla Midas Integration (Editing textarea using html editor)] Mozilla Midas Integration (Editing textarea using html editor)].
The master copy IS [[#446 Mozilla Midas Integration (Editing textarea using html editor)] Mozilla Midas Integration (Editing textarea using html editor)] (this one).

mozilla's composite review --DeanGoodmanson, 2003/02/28 18:24 GMT

Mozilla's Composite editor ( http://composite.mozdev.org/ ) is NOT Zwiki friendly.

Technically: Lose your STX formatting, readability by toasting the whitespace. (needs html structure stylizing (tidy?) on open/save..)

Philisophically: Text source and rendered output similarities are essentially removed.

This is Andrew Ho: TestPage/guiedit is gone! Where did it go? How can I restore it?

It's still in the RecycleBin?. It looked like trash, and the parent wasn't a personal or other relevant page.
