Zope Version (Zope 2.6.1 (binary release, python 2.1, win32-x86), python 2.1.3, win32)
Python Version 2.1.3 (#35, Apr 8 2002, 17:47:50) [MSC 32 bit (Intel)]?
System Platform win32
ZWiki 0.15.0

If I create a ZWiki where all users can View and Access contents information, but only managers have the other ZWiki: permissions, then if I access a page and log in as a manager (e.g. by manually trying to access the /editform), I do not see any of the expected links and options (not even the comment form) in the Wiki page footer.

To make the footer appear properly, if I simply browse to the manage page for the site, then back to the page in question and press refresh, all the options appear. Until I've been to the manage page, the footer stays broken on all the pages of the site.

It took quite a while to figure out how to make appearance and disappearance of the options repeatable, as I was going in and out of the management interface to try to track down the problem!

A partial workaround is to make all users have to log in to the site, then the footers do appear correctly straight away.

Sincere apologies is this is fixed in 0.16.0 or a Known or Old issue - I can't find anything about it though.

browser issue I think --SimonMichael, 2003/03/02 15:39 GMT
Thanks for the report. I believe this is a browser issue. Browsers sometimes don't present their full authenticated credentials until they are forced to. Until they do, zope has no way of knowing they're authenticated. To check this, have your footer or wiki pages print REQUEST:

 <dtml-var REQUEST>

and watch how AUTHENTICATED_USER behaves. I don't know if certain browsers or certain preference settings are more prone to this. I haven't seen it for a while.
