My IssueTracker is working nicely now but ... it doesn't notify people who are subscribed just to that page. We are stting up a moderator system and want the moderators just to subscribe to this page but see all of the new issues. They will then recategorise them. A page subscriber is notified if a comment is added. Is this a bug or a feature?

a misunderstanding I think --SimonMichael, 2003/06/05 11:40 GMT
IssueTracker works like the other pages.. it will generate mail if you add a comment to it. To receive notification of new issues, subscribe to the whole wiki.

Auto-subscription feature added --2003/06/07 16:52 GMT
Thanks for clearing up the misunderstanding.

I've added some code to auto-subscribe the email sender of an issue to the new page that gets added. This way, anyone can email the tracker and see the comments that are added without needing to visit the site. I did this in a rather convoluted way, picking up the reply-to address in mailin.py, passing it through IssueTracker.dtml through the createIssue call and the setting the subscriber_list property in that method. Not sure if there's a way to get the email address from within the createIssue method without having to pass it all the way in?

Cool. It is all a bit convoluted here isn't it. As a step forward maybe mailin.py could call createIssue instead of using the IssueTracker page.

FYI I just added something related: if an auto_subscribe folder property is true, any web commenter is automatically subscribed to the page. I haven't implemented it for mail commenters yet.
