Even with subtopics off, I find performance rather bad on zwiki.org right now. I'm not 100% sure it's worse than before, but I think it is. To see it, just open a bunch of links in multiple tabs and see how slowly they complete.

It may be the thread & cache configuration requires re-tuning due to the increased page count. Or recent refactoring and enhancements may have introduced a performance issue. Another round of profiling is needed.

better, I think --SimonMichael, Tue, 13 Jan 2004 07:16:57 -0800 reply

"Zope process size limit has been increased to 150M, thread count has been reduced from 3 to 2, and target cache size has been increased to 3000."

After this and the new page hierarchy code, performance seems to be back around where it should be with the current code and memory allocation. Multiple tabs now load about as quickly as you'd expect - I think, but this may be intermittent. Last time I saw it I looked for conflict errors, assuming they were the cause, but didn't see any in the event log. I suspect they were happening nevertheless.
