Hi,

PlacelessTranslationService? now has the ability to automatically use and compile all .PO files present inside 'i18n' directory product root directory (e.g.: Products/ZWiki/i18n).

It would be great if current ZWiki 'locale' directory could be renamed to 'i18n'.

Thanks.

Best regards,

sounds good, except --SimonMichael, Sat, 24 Jan 2004 19:11:49 -0800 reply

I thought locale was fairly standard in the gettext world. Zope 3 uses locales. Tiran is aware of this and may change PTS.

+1 for i18n --Mon, 09 Feb 2004 06:43:52 -0800 reply

I just talked with Christian Heimes about Zope3's Translation Service and the PTS.

Zope3 uses a 'locales' dir but with a different internal structure, something like:

locales/de/LC_MESSAGE/domain.mo

And until now,

I would like to have ZWiki's 'locale' renamed to 'i18n' because:

  1. All others CMF compatible products I know are already using 'i18n' folders to store the .POs?.
  2. The integration with Zope3 is too far away... AFAIK there's no plans to incorporate an on-demand compiler from .PO to .MO ... :-(
  3. It'll be nice... :-)

Simon, you decide... ;-)

Regards.
