If a bracketed link spans through two lines in source code, then freeform link won't be interpreted.

It's serious when you are using Epoz, because its built in Tidy routine will wrap lines automatically, and can be only perceived when viewed in source code mode.

[Test link in one line]?

[Test link spans through two lines]

newstx, again --Bob McElrath?, Wed, 17 Nov 2004 12:03:10 -0800 reply

This is fixed in my new stx: http://mcelrath.org:9675/newstx/Issue973Problem

Note that my code will actually identify and mark the link, but due to problems in renderLink and elsewhere, the newline is actually part of the page name, (page name contains %0A). I have proposed having renderLink "normalize" link text before, and this would fix this problem. Also when the link spans two lines the square brackets get interpreted as part of the link name. (again a renderLink or otherwise non-stx problem)

Not just a problem with epoz editing --Mon, 31 Jan 2005 09:31:56 -0800 reply

I also run into this issue when using an external editor in Plone on a non-epoz site. Most editors provide a way to reformat a paragraph with new line breaks (in fact, better text handling one of the reasons to use an external editor), but this breaks free-form links.

Workaround --JózsefJároli, Tue, 25 Oct 2005 02:34:00 -0700 reply

Workaround for this problem is to disable wrapping of Tidy. ( Maik has set the word wrap to 79 in release 0.8.1 ) If you have mxTidy or uTidy installed, you have to set the passed wrap option value from 79 to 0 (Edit the __init__.py file in Epoz product library > around line 224. 230)

what to do --simon, Sun, 26 Feb 2006 12:56:43 -0800 reply

Is it reasonable to expect (freeform, space-containing) wiki links to span multiple lines ? Does any other wiki engine support that ? I agree it is a practical problem right now.
