Here's how to enable use of the minimal Zwiki skin inside a CMF or Plone site. You might want to offer this as an option for power users; your wiki will be faster, sometimes a lot faster, with the zwiki skin. See also Zwiki and Plone.

How to switch the skin

If you're using an up-to-date Zwiki (>= 0.52) in Plone, you can choose to use the fast zwiki skin instead of the standard plone skin. Normally you can switch using your web browser's - and + access keys, eg in Firefox: press control-minus to switch to the zwiki skin, and control-plus to switch back to the plone skin. Your choice is remembered with a cookie.

If the access keys don't work for some reason, try visiting .../SOMEWIKIPAGE/setskin?skin=zwiki and .../SOMEWIKIPAGE/setskin?skin=plone .

Switching skins is very cool. --nd51, Tue, 08 Aug 2006 02:32:40 -0700 reply

I've just discovered this. Thats an extremely cool feature, thanks Simon. :-) Now we have the best of both worlds, being able to switch between ZWiki and Plone skins in a few key presses. Very nice. I wonder how many other people know about this....
