this was just a test

Just finished it, try now :) --SM

testing...damn this is cool ;p nice one simon. hmz, wrt the frontpage, can u at least have some section (a quarter of the page), which displays the content of an alternative page, such as FrontPageGeneral?... which can then be edited by normal users? --tav

tav - my intention is to re-open FrontPage for community content in some way. Things are quiet and we have a simple-minded javascript neutralizer, so for now I've just done what you suggest. --SM

it'd be interesting to see how it pans out, and while i am making suggestions, could you possibly, make RecentChanges? available next to every "edit this page"? - tav

No! Are you crazy ? the page would fall over. :) You could use PinnedPages?. It would be nice to offer a choice of alternate (contributed) header/footers as a UserOption?. --SM

Aaah you have found a bug, you space-wielding demon.. I can't edit space-named pages in zwiki any more. Don't know how you managed it ? --SM Fixed, I think.

when i implemented something akin to UserOptions? on the esp xnet, Killarny suggested that we make the timezone a drop-down list... which i thought was a very good idea... so i have changed it here, if u want users to be more specific about their timezones, feel free to roll back the change - tav

Thanks! Here's another bug, editform links on space-named pages are broken. --SM Fixed.

Commented out the timezone menu. I missed seeing "PST", having control over how it looks, seeing the current value when I come to this page.. or something... A more refined menu might work --SM

A pseudo-bug on the options. Since the clear-cookies button is first, entering a value in one of the boxes and pressing enter/return causes the cookies to be cleared (at least in MSIE 5). Perhaps "set cookies" should be first? --CliffordAdams

I put "set cookies" first and added tabindex attributes. Now, tab will step through the form elements first. In IE, pressing enter will do the right thing. Added a tabindex to the jumpsearch field too, so on all pages a single (mozilla) or double (IE) tab will take you there. --SM

I'm trying to use some options rather than text in my UserOptions? (checkbox, for example), and I notice that someone has tried implementing a menu here... any chance of seeing that code? --RobertBrook

You just did. :) See the comments above; tav put it in, and I changed it back after a few days. To see it in action, un-comment it, and please feel free to enhance such that I won't be tempted to changed it back to a text field. --SM

Oh. Very cool! Time to play! --RobertBrook

Good bye coldfusion.

Why Error Valus:zwiki_heigh with Zope 2.4.1?

There's a fix to this zwiki_height error problem which I've outlined on GeneralProblems. --GG

Hi Daniel

Referring to your error message right above: You are wrong. UserOptions? does work with Zope 2.4.3 and ZWikidotorg? 0.9.6 or 0.9.8 ! Try it yourself.

Looking into your own error trace you can clearly see that you are not running Zope 2.4.3 - as you say - but that you are running Zope 2.4.2. And with this older version you get this error. Anyway you should not use Zope 2.4.2 as it is buggy also in other respects (see the Changelog from Zope 2.4.2 to 2.4.3). Regards, --- Flynt

Heya.

on my intranet zwiki (sorry you can't access) submitting "set options" on this page, and attempting to display AddIssue? - basically anything that tries to get/set cookies, fails:

Zope has encountered an error while publishing this resource.

Error Type: KeyError?

Error Value: zwiki_height

this is not a browser config issue, as it happens with any browser. the zwiki.org pages work fine. any ideas?

Thanks, IraAbramov?

The same for me...* Thanks, Mik

Hi.. I believe it was fixed in 0.9.8. I'm checking to see why it's hard to find in the ZwikiIssueTracker. Best regards --SM

UserOptions? didn't have the site visibility I expected: Blatent on FrontPage or header, and on HelpPage . Maybe it's a default BookMark? that I've changed.

For ZWiki.org, can we turn off the comments security flag on UserOptions? just as it has been done with IssueTracker ?

(FrontPage, RecentChanges? may also qualify as pages which get edited and probably shouldn't. Dang, that got me thinking. Read-Only is probably best, as edits might not get noticed outside of RecentChanges?.)
