ZwikiToPDF is, currently, a fantasy project, that would take a ZWiki site and generate a PDF document out of it. There are some good reasons, I believe, to do this. Feel free to edit/comment the lists below! DinuGherman

Great idea, just what i need!!

My main vision is; select a wikipage just pdf (wikipage/pdf) it and it is considered the rootdocument, all direct descendants (who have this page as parent) are subsections, recursively, with the wiki page name as subtitle. Maybe some parameters, as the level of sub to show in the contents or something...

Can you expand on this through ZwikiPrinting?

You might compare this idea to BackTalk?'s ability to export of BackTalk? book to PDF

There are a number of solutions to displaying the entire wiki on one page (just ask), then saving to PDF.

Seems that featuritus has this one. How, How much, How often, etc.

What are you, in particular, hoping for?

The idea is to be able to use a Wiki as collaborative tool (this usage has been proven to be really efficient by years of practice) for people that need to have a paper version of there work.

So the goal is to be able to export the whole wiki (or individual wiki pages) once in a while to see what it looks like, but more importantly when the work is done, basically as a print feature but the pdf is a better option, so that you can share your work with other person in an officialy published way so to say.

First of all, I'm using ZWiki in plone, so the possiblity to display the entire wiki on one page, and then use the print to pdf browser feature (if available) is not an option because of all the portlets and such surronding the real wiki content.

Second, but I might be wrong on the matter, display a wiki as a flat page might be accomplished in many ways, the wiki content displays all wiki pages title based on a dependencies detection mecanism ... but it might not be the only way to transform the multi dimension structure of a wiki to a single dimension flat file.

I took a look at CMFReportTool? but it seems discontined ...

I'd like to be able to export the whole wiki with a new content action on a wiki page that exports the whole wiki to a shinny pdf :-)

I appreciate any links or project name & so on ...

Do you need to suppress URLs?

I only know bits and pieces that might make this work for you, such as ZwikiPrinting.

Aside: Can one view a Zwiki within Plone site in a "vanilla" zwiki way in addition to being wrapped up in Plone?

Yes, you can. We are using ZwikiPrinting's /print method with some minor modifications (mostly to order the pages according to their hierarchy and to include "section numbers"). The renderer page includes no Plone skin and is very similar to the output of the script in normal Wikis.

However, there are a few problems:

How does that (/print and /AllPages) work in plone ? SomePage?/print leads to 404 for me ... what should I do to set it up ?

This is kind of silly, but I think the problem is that we are not dealing with ZWikis?, but BTreeFolders? with ZwikiPages? in them. Thus the ZWiki doesn't work. And it makes sense that the ZWiki not work, because it's not a ZWiki, n'est pas ? Is there such a thing as a ZWiki-aware BTreeFolder? ??? Are U aware ?
