We recently upgraded to ZWiki 0.60. Now, recentchanges shows all pages in our Wiki, even if we ask only for pages changes in the last day. Any ideas?

Details? --betabug, Tue, 08 Jan 2008 23:49:01 -0800 reply

Can we have a few more details? What Zwiki version did you upgrade from? What Zope versions? Is this on Plone or without?

One thing I could think of is that at some point the "history" mechanism was revised and maybe during the upgrade all pages ended up with a "changed date" of the upgrade - though I have not observed any such behaviour so far. When you make a change now (a few hours later), does the "last changed by xx seconds/minutes/hours ago" time get updated correctly?

Guessing: it's possible your recent changes wasn't using zcatalog before, and now it is.

Try visiting SomePage?/upgradeAll ? That will make sure your catalog is current.

I'm not sure what version of Zwiki we had before. We are using Zope 2.7, no Plone.

It is possible that we were not using zcatalog before, but we have run upgradeAll, and this situation is still occurring. For example, from the recentchanges list:

Tracking Third-Party Software mitchell July 3, 2005 3:22 pm

So, it seems like some part of Zwiki knows the right edit data, but still thinks this is "recent". The last edited date shown when visiting the page above is indeed "2 years ago".

Assuming the wiki is inaccessible, I think you'll have to debug a little. Here's one way to find out more: paste the content of into a Structured Text + DTML wiki page (you may need to set the allow_dtml boolean property in the page or folder zmi properties tab). This will give you an editable recent changes. Try playing with the code, eg this at the top:

results="pages(lastEditTime={'query': now-days, 'range':'min'},sort_on='lastEditTime',sort_order='reverse')"

to see what's going on. Ask us for help on #zwiki. Another way is to send me the exported wiki so I could take a look.

Well, it's unsatisying but in the interests of right priorities I think we must have a policy of closing these unique issues where the reporter has gone and there's no obvious way to find out more. Closing this one, please reopen if we can take this further.
