It would be nice to be able to step forward & back through the issues, as they are listed on the main list page.

One way to do this --EmmaLaurijssens, Mon, 24 Apr 2006 13:14:56 -0700 reply
When displaying the issues, filtered or sorted, find out each issue's index in the query. Pass the query string and index when opening the issue. Use the index number to display Previous and Next buttons

OTOH, using the query string makes it a bit messy. Any better ideas?

very ambiguous --EmmaLaurijssens, Fri, 16 Mar 2007 09:12:49 +0000 reply
What is the next issue? The next open issue? The next critical issue? The next critical open issue?

I don't think this is feasible without a boatload of (client side, I think) scripting.

Use browser controls instead --EmmaLaurijssens, Fri, 16 Mar 2007 09:16:43 +0000 reply

Using the browser's back button gets you back quickly to the list of issues, if you came from there, and you can select the next from there. Saves a lot of server-side processing.

This doesn't work when you came from another page, but then it's not clear what "next" and "previous" mean anway.
