Cf [IssueNo0552 comment headers not formatted in certain timezones]?.

Unlike in other parts of Zwiki, the timestamp links in message headings, and the urls provided for messages, are not adjusted based on the UserOptions? time zone cookie. They always use the default timezone of the server (?).

Should something change here ?

changes for timestamps: shown or used as message URLs? -- 2003/07/29 11:07 GMT reply

For users, the server time is usful, not sender --Samotnik, 2003/07/29 14:06 GMT reply
Wiki is often used as a discussion tool or a kind of blog. For these purposes, the server time is necessary, as in the traditional message boards.

Probably, for extensive collaboration of many people located around the world, the info of user's timezone is also necessary. However, this info - as general - can be written in the homepages of the Users. In special situations, somebody being in travel, etc., can inform collaborators separately. It could be enough, and no user's timezone info is needed in the comment heading.

For now I lean towards:

simplest - --SimonMichael, Tue, 05 Aug 2003 04:32:58 +0000 reply
use server's timezone, numeric form, for all message ids/urls/links. Future message display modes can display something else if they want.

How can you change timezone --davidm, Sun, 25 Sep 2005 06:15:46 -0700 reply
Messages from my server show -0400 yet the server is showing +1000 - this difference really throws out email timestamps. how can I change it to the server timezone? david..
