When I paste polish characters, eg "Śpiąca", then save the page and edit again, I see they have been converted to HTML entities: 'Śpiąca'. I thought we didn't do that any longer, so why ?

Now, after You changed to UTF-8, Simon, the text in editbox is displayed correct.

By the way, I remember that it was correct in CMF Wiki which I used some months ago ouside Plone.

There is a paradox, that computers are produced in Poland for 40 years, our universities have been connected to Arpanet as a third or 4th country in the world, but for these 40 years no really working standard for Polish characters is established. For example, our webpages use 3 strandards (ISO-8859-2, Windows-1250/CP-1250 and UTF-8), MS Word also, depending on its version!

In this awful situation problems of character display are very common here and even not rcognized as serious problems, as long as we don't print the texts.

In everyday use of some old scripts as forum boards we simply don't use Polish characters. Of course, it is not acceptable in businnes or official use.
