Hi All,

I have installed a number of ZWiki's on Zope 2.7.0 (have not tried any other zope) have a strange implementation of Mailout feature.

When I specify subscribers_list to some address, and mail_from, the email notification does get received to both accounts. Same happends if I specify mail_replyto instead of mail_from.

Not sure why this happends, will try to look in code, but I already spent around 1 Hr trying to understand may be I am doing something wrong. Nothing... Emails get sent to 2 accounts (to both mail_from and subscribers_list).

Quick hack I made for 4 Zwiki sites is to create mail account, which I put into subscribers_list, so this account receives duplicate email, other email gets sent to mail_from.

Could somebody help me in resolving this issue?

From memory, I believe the problem is that Zwiki puts all the subscribers in Bcc, but it needs something to put in To, and by default it re-uses the From address for that. This is harmless in some cases but causes duplicates in others. To avoid it, you can set the mail_to property to ; which is a legal address. That's what I do here.

This needs to be added to the docs, and/or maybe we should be smarter about this/do it automatically. There was some disadvantage to using ; in this way, but I forget what it was. It hindered threading perhaps.

0.29 has code to prevent this. Are you using the latest ?

I added this in the sendMailTo function :

          # may be the cause of intermittent slow comments
          # XXX for now use 2 & allow it to be overridden
          tohdr = getattr(self.folder(),'mail_to','') or replytohdr
 +        try: recipients.remove(tohdr)
 +        except ValueError: pass
          if mail_from:
              if (not re.match(r'[0-9\.\s]*$',username) and
