Should it fall back on standard email address entry for anonymous cmf/plone users ? I think so.

Patch for this problem --Tue, 19 Apr 2005 02:50:26 -0700 reply

I had the same problem. Here is a patch against 0.40 which fixes this problem:

It does what is proposed above: i.e. if the user is not logged into the CMF the Mail Subscription Mechanism falls back on the non-cmf mechanism, i.e. using the email address.

Please include the patch in 0.41 (I need this for my site ;)

BTW: this bugreport seems to be a duplicate of 766AnonymousUserCantSubscribeInPlone2

applied (same patch I believe) for 0.41 --simon, Wed, 27 Apr 2005 17:51:59 -0700 reply

I have the same problem again, I use cmfmember now, maybe it is due to this.

I am the guy who sent the above patch. Maybe I can see, why it is not working again, but it won't be before in 3 weeks.

fixed for 0.52.1 --simon, Sat, 08 Apr 2006 09:29:40 -0700 reply

Thanks. I overlooked this difference in the plone subscribeform and so it was lost in 0.52. I've replaced and updated it to work for hopefully all cases. When there is more time we should review the whole form, figure out exactly how subscription should work in each situation and clean up.
